So much to do before heading out and the days are ticking by so fast! Lots to finish up with work stuff before my connectivity becomes less reliable. Priorities are being harshly established and my "give-a-shit" list is getting really short in terms of what I'm prepared to spend time doing before departure day.
I have made some new connections and have a few new places to stay along the way. It's amazing what comes out of the woodwork when you are open and excited about an adventure. Some new farkles for the bike (and for me too): - a ram mount to hold gps/phone (I don't think the horns will fit - depends on th size of the ram......) - new riding gear that I'm hoping it actually IS waterproof after having tried many options that turned out not to be. - helmet lock, since my cases will all be used up with gear - National Park Pass!!! Not sure how I will keep someone from stealing it off my bike, but am starting by punching a hole in the corer of the pass so I can ziptie it to the handlebars. As the pass is plastic-y, it will be a first-level deterrent. Also took a picture of the pass - front and back - so I have the bar code and can report it if it does go for a walk. Can't think of any other measure to take. Better get back to work - apparently it's not going to do itself!
